IRC Nickname: Cassemia

Original Dimension: Original
Character Name: Nanami Kamega
Race: Ocelot-Lynx Feli
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 96lbs
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Ochre orange
Appearance: http://illiweb.com/fa/pbucket.gif&newest=1
Description: A clever and friendly girl, a bit self-centered and reserved. She has what seem to be a feline tail and ears.
Likes: Highly in favor of reed and woodwind instruments, she derives a playful satisfaction from mischief, spying and troublemaking.
Dislikes: Putting herself at a disadvantage, whether it be a tactical blunder or a slip of the tongue.

Powers and Special Abilities:

Feli hearing is extremely sensitive and is among the best of any mammal, being most acute in the range of 500 Hz to 32 kHz. This sensitivity is further enhanced by large movable outer ears, which both amplify sounds and help sense the direction from which a noise is coming.

Feli have excellent night vision and can function at only one-sixth the light level required for human vision. This is partly the result of cat eyes having a tapetum lucidum, which reflects any light that passes through the retina back into the eye, thereby increasing the eye's sensitivity to dim light.

Feli have an acute sense of smell, and are very sensitive to pheromones. They also respond strongly to plants (such as catnip) which contain nepetalactone, as they can detect this substance at less than one part per billion. This response is also produced by other plants and may be caused by the smell of these plants mimicking a pheromone and stimulating feline behaviors.

They are able to tolerate high temperatures: feli show no discomfort until their skin reaches around 52°C (126°F), and can tolerate temperatures of up to 56°C if they have access to water. In addition they generally lack circadian rhythms, amplifying their tendency to be active at both day and night.

Weaknesses:

Feli are many times more sensitive to chemical contamination than humans. IE, their digestive system can't handle alcohol in the same way that humans can. This risk of a compromised nervous system and potential death stems from Feli genetics: they lack specific metabolic (enzymatic) pathways and cannot utilize plant proteins as efficiently as animal proteins.

Skills:

Childhood thief training: Camouflage, concealment, deception, beguilement, deceit, subterfuge, lock picking, stealth, infiltration and a wicked way with knives.

Marshalship standard training: Digital Interface 1-3 (electronic lock bypassing), modern vehicle operation license 3rd degree (knowledge limited to light vehicles), 5th degree unarmed defense, 7th degree small arms training.

Weapons and Gear:

Carbonized Ka-Bar Tanto: A black and shimmerless blade with a rubberized grip.

Eye.Spy: A goggle-mounted video/audio capture device capable of recording and transmitting data via communicator frequencies.

Tactical colors: An extremely dark green catsuit made from synthetic fibers, featuring toe boots and a menagerie of small pouches attached to a streamlined body harness.

Miscreant's toolpouch: Kept in a little zippered leather case, this set has no duplication of picks, and offers the greatest versatility in opening pin tumbler locks. A total of 69 pieces ranging from Euro picks to Warded, as well as Standard and Slim Line and tension tools.

Background:

Nanami was orphaned in a lakeside city parallel to a sprawling forest, nestled between a mountainous slope and an endless valley to the East. She was found in one of the city's twisting alleys by Haru Otsu and Ikana Maze, two young thieves of the gully. Given their careers, it seemed highly illogical and dangerous to take in a stray child, but Ikana's heart was swayed and they took the girl into hiding under the roads of Aozora. She was collectively adopted in return for her servitude, raised and cared for by a gang of thieves in the hopes she would strengthen their numbers one day. Her receptive awareness avidly grew with age, into a wicked cunning. The tricks of the thieving trade fell upon her like leaves over the passing seasons, the beginning of her outlaw career.

Many years passed. In the summer of her 17th age, Nanami became lost in an endless fog in the dark reaches of the forests. There began to tear a rift in the fabric of reality, drawing the curious girl through to the other side. She found herself stranded on a galactic warship in a new lane of reality, shifted and shaken but persisting in a new universe of unknown possibilities. She enlisted in Marshalship cadet training, hoping to cover her criminal tracks and adopt a new persona as an extradimensional recruit.
