Gatekeeper Locations thread!

Hey guys, let's get a thread together of all the gatekeeper locations we've rped in.

Thus far, i've added 2, with help from Chrissy, The upper Observation deck, which is a huge transparisteel dome with fountains and benches in it, lights always kept off so that the stars can provide light.

Also: an unnamed italian restaurant with a mottled blue and grey stone architecture, with singers waiters and waitresses who will perform opera arias as they serve you. High class, high expense location. Someone good with Italian, please help me name it!

Some other locations:

Beth's Diner: The most popular civilian run establishment on Gatekeeper, Beth's is your very basic greasy spoon joint. It's open 24/7, serves huge portions, good food and had the dreaded 12 egg omelet. They provide each customer a sheet of paper and each table a pack of crayons, the results of this are posted all over the walls of the diner. Heavily frequented by everyone from marshals to visitors to civvies.

The Loser's Lounge: A lounge aimed at Third Rank Marshals, this lounge is excessively unpopular and often empty. It's got a bad reputation and is usually frequented by Third Rank lifers, an unenviable position to be in. It's open later than other lounges, but that doesn't help it much. Kitchen staff dread working this place.

Trillion Flavors: This ice cream shop consists of a long counter in front of which are several computer monitors. From these monitors you can choose one of a literally trillion flavors of ice cream. There is an alphabetized search, a search by world of origin, a search by flavor, and a random selection option. The ice cream is then made by robotic servers. There are tables in and outside of the shop.

Diel's: A hair salon run by a tall and yellow alien with four arms. He is, of course, feminine. This is also a more expensive place.

Yiel's: A beauty salon run by Diel's sister. Also being a bit expensive, they provide massages, facials, and other beauty salon services. Yiel is known to be a bit gossipy but fairly hard to offend.

Blacken Wyatt Clothing: An expensive and high-class clothing store with brand-name clothes that also does personalized tailoring and stuff like that.

Galaxy Theatre: Features live stage performances of famous productions from throughout the multiverse. The actors are all volunteers from the civilians, cadets, and marshalship staff who share a common interest in stagework.

A new restaurant has opened on Gatekeeper! (It is based on a real restaurant in New York called Peanut Butter & Co)

Its name is "Peanut Butter and Something Sandwiches", and is run by Horrible Gelatinous Blob. He is known to temporarily ingest his employees when displeased with them.

As such, people seem rather wary of visiting the shop for now. But that may change once they taste his food!

MENU:

Classic Peanut Butter Sandwiches

Lunchbox Special: Our freshly ground peanut butter, spread thick over a layer of strawberry or grape jam. For something different, try it with raspberry or apricot preserves. Either way, it's everybody's favorite.

Fluffernutter: Freshly ground peanut butter on one side and gobs of marshmallow fluff spread on the other. It's heaven.

Peanut Butter Cup: Our freshly ground peanut butter, kissed by a chocolatey layer of nutella. Who hasn't craved this one before?

Peanut Butter BLT: We use fresh cut bacon and toasted bread to give this sandwich great flavor and texture.

Peanut Butter Club: Double your pleasure and enjoy two layers of peanut butter and two layers of jelly between three slices of toasted bread.

Ants On A Log: Memories of kindergarten will come flooding back as you munch on freshly cut celery sticks, stuffed with smooth or crunchy peanut butter, topped with raisins. Also optional ants.

Flavored Peanut Butter Sandwiches

The Heat Is On Sandwich: Spicy peanut butter and chilled grilled chicken, with a little bit of pineapple jam. Like a thai satay - only better.

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Sandwich: Cinnamon-raisin peanut butter and vanilla cream cheese, stuffed with crisp apple slices.

White Chocolate Wonderful Sandwich: White chocolate peanut butter and orange marmalade. Like a peanuty creamsicle.

Dark Chocolate Dreams Sandwich: Chocolate peanut butter and cherry jam, stuffed with shredded coconut. It's peanut butter meets black forest cake

Peanut Butter Sampler: A sampling of our freshly ground peanut butters, served with melba toast and freshly cut carrots, celery, and apple slices. It's crudites our way!

Bagel Nosh: A toasted bagel, smooth or crunchy peanut butter, and jam. Start smearing!

Baloney and Cheese: All beef bologna, Earthican cheese, mayo & mustard.

Jant's Curio Shoppe is easy to spot because the entrance is so out of place in the mall section of Gatekeeper. It's an arched wooden door, with a large wooden sign hanging above it with the name painted on in difficult-to-read cursive.

The inside is just as out of place, made to look like an old house converted into a store, and all the furniture inside is also made of wood. The shop itself has all kinds of oddities, and there's something there for just about anyone.

Three fantastic storefronts, side by side have opened, and look utterly amazing from the outside - as if plucked right from dreamland. Upon closer inspection, one would notice that the primary 'architecture' of all three buildings is made of a very pure, very refined - and therefore very sturdy wax. One might also take note of the fact that there are harmless, fluffy little honeybees flying to and forth all about the gatekeeper... thus, there are signs posted in the windows of all three buildings, and in the window of every other shop on the gatekeeper that say the following:

"Don't fear the bees! They're curious and friendly - completely non-aggressive,
and guaranteed to make the best honey you've ever tasted!
Please do not smash the bees, as they are on the clock!
And for the best honey this side of the sun, visit Awiita's Waxworks, Inc.

Near the botanical area (allowing her bees the best access to the best flowers) are Awiita's flagship stores, others having been opened on other planets, but all being fed from this central location. The shops are as follows:


Wax and Wane: A museum showcasing fantasies in wax. This museum, with free admission, contains wax sculptures and portraits of everything from fairies, to dragons, to Gods and Goddesses, and all sorts of fantastic animals. Anything anyone's read in a fantasy book, no matter where they're from, it's probably represented in the walls of Wax and Wane. There is also a small gift shop at the end where you can purchase miniature versions of your favorite museum pieces, or request special commission renderings to your specifications. All the floors, the walls, the chairs, and the countertops are made out of very well-crafted wax sculpture, as well, making the museum a wonder in its own rights.

Cloverlands: A shop devoted entirely to what is claimed to be 'the galaxies finest candles and incense'. They brag to have many scents only available from distant planets, and have a large following of people who miss the smells of their homeworld... After all, scent IS the strongest sense tied to memory! This is also the shop where many people go to buy honey made from a number of flowers that may ONLY grow on their home planet, or to try delicious honeys from other people's home worlds.

The Honey Pot: A bakery and candy shop, specializing in all manners of sweets, taking special pride in unique dishes that are popular on various planets. This is the second shop for anyone who's homesick on the gatekeeper! There is a wide selection of things available from morning to evening, and there are regular promotions and celebrations for holidays of the different planets on which Awiita has established other Honey Pot stores. All of the tables and chairs in this store are amazingly and intricately crafted out of the same wax that forms the fantastic architecture of the facades of her shops.

On top of the Honey Pot, and stretching across the roof to Cloverlands is a large private garden, this being where Awiita does all her beekeeping, and where her bees always know to return to. The public can view the rooftop garden from the ground, but only guests of Awiita's can PERSONALLY gain entrance to the rooftop gardens, as above Wax and Wane, attached to these gardens, is the small apartment that Awiita keeps for herself.
