What are your character's quarters like? Empty What are your character's quarters like?

Post by Crono Fri Mar 20, 2009 12:27 am

With so many interesting folk aboard, everyone's personal quarters are bound to be a little different.

Crono's quarter:

Having arrived with a strangely large amount of luggage from Gatekeeper about a month back now, the space issues of Crono's room could be quickly described as 'organized chaos'. As with any programmer, Crono needs a quick and convenient place to jot down notes or ideas and scribble out diagrams that hold little if any comprehensible value. Due to that, Crono's entire back wall has been covered in a white board shaped to fit it, any if anyone REALLY wanted to know what might have been filtering through his head earlier that day, they'd just have to look for signs of the most recent scribbling. A decent portion of it however, as Crono has been suffering anxiety during sleep lately - mainly from dreams -, is covered in notes concerning these dreams. One might, in fact, say that half of this whiteboard is covered in nightmare.

On one side of his room is his bed, still with the original coverings provided. At first glance, one would notice he keeps this neat and tidied every day, but every so often one would notice a discrepancy in style revealing that many-a-night he often simply falls asleep atop it all, too drained from overworking the night prior.

His terminal has been ripped from the wall to grant access to the hardware, where the connection to his board that would usually lead to one hard drive extends out to a tower resting behind, holding several more in it stacking upwards. Beside that looks like an almost comedic 'my first chemistry set' kind of setup. Basic tools, flasks, beakers all lie strewn about in case he has a theory he quickly needs to verify without wishing to leave his domain.

Constantly finicky over his habits, the last installment was a self-check to ensure that he pays enough attention to his fitness, constantly telling himself hes just another soldier. In the center of the room, easily visible from the outside, is a bar running a couple feet parallel beneath the ceiling, stretching from one end to the other. A foot or so in front of this is the recognizable frame that should be holding his original terminal, but instead has been carved and mounted into the ceiling along with a very basic console often left idling at a prompt. Crono can often be seen hanging by his legs from this bar, working on a project while doing hanging sit-ups, or occasionally dangling between chin ups, all the while working out a line or so at a time as he exercises.

If ever questioned about working while upside down, he would simply reply, "It gets the blood rushing to my brain."

What are your character's quarters like? Empty Re: What are your character's quarters like?

Revia's quarters are actually rather boring, and sparsely decorated. This is because the Jedi are fairly ascetic in their lifestyle, and Revia isn't much of an exception. She has little in the ways of mementos, souvenirs, or trophies, barring a few assorted items on her shelves. These include a Jedi holocron (a cube-shaped holographic device containing the personality imprint of a Jedi Master and a knowledge database), the lightsaber her master made for her when she was a padawan, a spare lightsaber, a small box of lightsaber crystals (six of them inside, of assorted colours and properties), a toolkit, some spare parts, and a datapad with some extra datacards. See? Boring.

Ness just lets Shaila decorate the room however she likes, but if she gets ideas for it, he helps out. He's got a baseball poster or two, though.

Visyet has taken the time to nick some weaponry from the armoury for his own room, using those as decor. During his time at Gatekeeper, he has also purchased some nice paintings, statuettes, and a couple plants to give his room a comfortable but classy feel to it. He also has a cushion to sit on for meditation.

Challen's room is, despite being packed with gear, startlingly clean and sterile. She's got all manner of equipment in there for repairing and constructing devices, a metric fuckton of parts of all shapes and sizes, and tons of reading material in the form of a second computer console.

Aliciel's room is a little of what you would expect from a high ranking military officer of her home world. She keeps her things organized and neatly tidy. Her walls were painted beige for that warm and inviting atmosphere and a crimson aerial rug for class and refinement. On her desk are books of history, protocols, and romance novels with the occasional picture frames of friends, family, places she's seen so she can keep track of her memories that way. She likes to collect random, cute knickknacks or things that are pretty and catch her interest. She has a full view mirror on one side of the room and a little vanity and her bed has a brown and black theme to it with some modern design.

Sakura's room is what you would expect from a Japanese schoolgirl. She has shelves filled with figurines, stuffed animals, manga, anime DVD's and video games. She has a girly desk with a cute little stationary set with a print of cherry blossoms. Her favorite alarm clock that looks like a chicken and has multiple pillows littered about in different colors and sizes to sit on or lay on. She also has a little low coffee table with a basket of candy setting in the middle for guests. Yup, just think Usagi's room from Sailor Moon or her actual room from Card Captors and your good to go!

Aedin's room is fairly modestly but tastefully decorated in (albeit, simulated) oak, including a number of shelves of replicated print books since, while he is certainly capable of using the electronic document readers, print books still seem much more natural, particularly when relaxing. The books include a wide range of fiction and reference volumes derived from the Blaze's own libraries. He also has some plants around in the corners, and has designed and replicated a few tapestries, most notably the Seal of the High Council of Sages, the Crest of Sharra, and the Crest of the Priesthood of Morrigan. The walls are predominantly wood panel, with thick, dark rugs on the hardwood floor.

Jackal's quarters are extremely plain and spartan (excusing the pun), unsurprisingly. The walls are a pretty plain medium gray, with darker floor and lighter ceiling. The room is partitioned into a small livingroom area with a couch and small table, and a separate bedroom. There are no family pictures, no printed books, no potted plants, nothing of the sort. She does keep her service uniform ready in her bedroom where she can get at it quickly if necessary for official matters, and has her dress saber mounted on a wall in the livingroom. An antimateriel rifle Tristan custom-build for her has recently been mounted on the wall, as well, just above the dress saber.

Her office is more decorated (since it's also supposed to put people at ease) with a businesslike simulated-cherrywood desk with an inset computer terminal. She does have some citation award certificates tucked away someplace, but doesn't put them up on display.

Nikolai has some chic and comfortable furniture (chrome-and-glass sort of style), and a copy of Repin's Burlaks (Boat-haulers) on the Volga. However, he also shares the room with Damia, and has encouraged her to add her own touches, so this entry may be updated! He does, however, insist on stained marble in the bathroom instead of regular tile, because you've just got to have stained marble somewhere.

Shin's room has DethKlok and Cannibal Corpse posters just about everywhere on the walls, with a rack of CDs from both bands, and several others, in one corner. His bass amp is sitting next to his bed, and the bass itself is sitting on a guitar stand against a wall. He keeps a framed picture of him and his younger brother on the nightstand next to his bed, which has custom-fabricated DethKlok bedsheets. On the outside of his door is a sign that reads "DethKlok RULES!" Basically, his room has a death metal theme.

When he's doing stuff in there (which is rare), he'll have some metal band CD playing on his portable stereo at a fairly low volume.

Amunet's room has that Eastern/exotic feel the minute you pass through the cold, metal doors and will give you a feeling of forgetfulness about where you actually are. Her room is a representation, almost perfectly, of how she lived before she was displaced onto the Blaze of Glory.

Her room is dimly lit and gives off an ambient lighting effect by the burning of fragrant candles, incense, exotic perfumes, and scented oil lamps that hang from the ceiling with rustic chains. The floor is a rich, dark cherry wood with a large, intricately detailed Persian rug covering the middle. Most of her furniture is made from cedar and has an interesting scent. She has many small cushions of various bright colors laying about the floor and large drapes of cloth hanging from the ceiling in decoration.

Her bed is covered with very expensive looking linen that's silky to the touch and has a mosquito net draping above her bed like a princess. She also has a golden, full-view mirror set to one side of the room where her vanity is that holds all her perfumes, scented bath oils, and accessories. Her furniture also consists of a nice cedar writing desk, two nightstands near her large bed, and a few chairs for guests.

There are exotic flowers and plants scattered about in decorative clay pots and vases. Very exotic and ambient themes playing together.

Damia has several photos of Nik and her placed randomly about. They're the natural non posed the person has no clue they're being taken kind, very spontaneous in their expressions and actions. Other than that she' keeps the room very neat and tidy. (I bet everyone thought she'd have a Harrowing Shrine somewhere in there Very Happy)

Nova doesn't decorate her room at all. The only time she's in it is to sleep and that's only for a few hours each week when she's aboard.

Phoron really hasn't had a chance to decorate his room any yet. So it's still the basic set up.

River's room is very neat and spartan. She does seem to favor hues of blue it seems.

Jim's room is a pile of books, a semi-clean desk, scattered plastic models, anime and game DVDs, and an unmade bed.
